PRAGUE (Reuters) — The police expelled David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan leader, from the Czech Republic on Saturday, his lawyer said.

Mr. Duke was detained Friday on suspicion of denying the Holocaust, an offense punishable by up to three years in prison if a violator is convicted under Czech law. His lawyer, Klara Slamova, said Mr. Duke left the country after being ordered out by the police. He was visiting the Czech Republic at the invitation of an extremist group and was to have given lectures in Prague and Brno.

A police spokesman had told the Czech news agency CTK that no charges would be brought against Mr. Duke, a former presidential candidate who advocates racial segregation.

News outlets reported that hundreds of extremists demonstrated in a northern Czech town on Saturday, but without incident.

I guess I don’t really care why David Duke was expelled, just that he was.  And props to the Czech Republic for doing it.  The only sad thing is that he’s probably back in the US right now.  I’d love to just dump him in the middle of the Sudan and see how far his “white power” crap goes.
