Another President disrupts life

Today’s special flavor of crazy came in the form of the President (they do have a President, right?) of Egypt coming to Juba. So, any commercial planes en route to Juba were turned around and sent back to their place of origin.  Roads were closed all day in Juba and shops were told to be closed.

Just amazing, if you ask me.  How a city, (or capital no less) is supposed to function when it’s closed at a moments notice is beyond me.  And, of course, this didn’t make my colleagues happy who were on the plane that got turned around.
